Division of Cohort Research

We are building cohort research infrastructure for the public with a focus on lifestyle and disease. We collaborate with Japanese and international research institutes to integrate and share cohort research infrastructure, an important pillar of epidemiological research. We conduct research using large prospective cohort studies such as the Japan Public Health Center-based Prospective (JPHC) Study and the Japan Public Health Center-based Prospective Study for the Next Generation (JPHC-NEXT) to derive evidence that will lead to the extension of healthy life expectancy by preventing diseases, including cancer. Additionally, we are conducting joint epidemiological research in Japan. We utilize the six national centers (6NCs) research network and the National Center Cohort Collaborative for Advancing Population Health (NC-CCAPH). We use 6NCs cohort data to develop recommendations to extend healthy life expectancy and produce evidence.
