Japanese Consortium of Genetic Epidemiology studies

The Japanese Consortium of Genetic Epidemiology studies (J-CGE) is a national collaboration comprised of six molecular epidemiology study groups in Japan: Japan Public Health Center-based Prospective Study (JPHC Study at National Cancer Center), Hospital-based Epidemiologic Research Program at Aichi Cancer Center (HERPACC at Aichi Cancer Center), Japan Multi-Institutional Collaborative Cohort Study (J-MICC Study at Nagoya University, etc.), Tohoku Medical Megabank Project (TMM at Tohoku University and Iwate Medical University), Tsuruoka Metabolomics Cohort Study (TMCS at Keio University), and Biobank Japan (BBJ at the Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo). This consortium is promoting research to elucidate causes of lifestyle-related diseases prevalent among the Japanese population, as represented by cancer, and to develop personalized preventive measures. The Division of Epidemiology is in charge of its management. For further information, please click here (linked to an external website for NCC).
