The National Cancer Center Japan Exploratory Oncology Research & Clinical Trial Center (NCC-EPOC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation with Frederick National Laboratory of Cancer Research, USA.
Established in 1972, Frederick National Laboratory of Cancer Research is the only national laboratory focused on biomedical research, with 2400 staff. Equipped with supercomputers, cryo-electron microscopes and CAR-T facilities, the clinical trials emanating from the lab produced about 130 biopharmaceutical products. Many of the intramural research of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) are conducted at Frederick.
The cooperation will focus on drug development utilizing supercomputers and AI. Participation to Accelerating Therapeutics for Opportunities in Medicine (ATOM) will be explored.
The National Cancer Center also has a memorandum of understanding concluded with the National Cancer Institute. We hope to expand our collaboration through this new arrangement.
