Virtual Meeting with Tata Memorial Centre of India, Celebrating the Conclusion of Memorandum of Understanding

National Cancer Center concluded a memorandum of understanding with Tata Memorial Centre of India to strengthen the partnership and held a virtual meeting to celebrate. As guests of honor from India were: Mr Bishwadip Dey and Mr Sanjay Kumar, both Joint Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and Dr Usha Dixit, Counsellor (Science & Technology), Embassy of India in Japan. Representing the Government of Japan were: leaders from the International Affairs Division, Minister’s Secretariat, and Office for Global Strategy of Medical Service and Health Industry, Health Policy Bureau, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the embassy of Japan in India. From Tata Memorial Centre, Dr Rajendra A Badwe, Director, Dr C S Pramesh, Director, Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr Shripad Banavali, Director, Academics, Dr Sudeep Gupta, Director, ACTREC, and Dr Rajesh Dikshit, Director, Centre for Cancer Epidemiology participated in the meeting. From National Cancer Center, Dr Hitoshi Nakagama, President, Dr Kazuaki Shimada, Director, National Cancer Center Hospital (NCCH), Dr Kenichi Nakamura, Chief, Department of International Clinical Development, NCCH, Dr Kan Yonemori, Chief, Department of Medical Oncology, NCCH, Dr Tomohiro Matsuda, Head, Office of International Affairs participated in the meeting joined by Dr Mitsumi Terada, General Manager and Ms Sukanya Jalutangsee, Staff, Asian Partnerships Office, NCCH (Thailand). Both institutes will collaborate further on training of young oncologists, and collaborative cancer research including the A-TRAIN of ATLAS project in the years ahead.
