On May 28, a workshop themed ‘AI for Health’ was held at Tsukiji Campus in collaboration with Department of Innovation, Science, and Technology of the Embassy of the Netherlands. Twenty Dutch experts in AI from academia and the private sector presented and discussed the possibilities and challenges of AI and healthcare. From NCC, presentations were given by Dr Takashi Kohno, Director of Center for Cancer Genomics and Advanced Therapeutics (C-CAT), Dr Ryuji Hamamoto, Director of Medical AI Research and Development Division, Research Institute, Dr Nobuyoshi Takeshita, Director of Division of Medical Device Innovation Support, Hospital East, and Dr Tomohiro Matsuda, Chief of Division of International Health Policy Research, Institute for Cancer Control.
Many questions were asked by Dutch practitioners and researchers who are already using AI, which led to a lively academic exchange. It was meaningful for future research cooperation between the two countries.
