Morphine Dosage at Admission:

70% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage at admission was 48.3mg.

Morphine Dosage at Admission and Last 24 Hours:

70% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage was 48.3mg at admission and increased to 86.8mg in the last 24 hours.

Pain at Admission:

Of the 54 patients assessed at admission, 55% had no pain or mild pain, 41% had moderate to severe pain, and 4% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 54 patients assessed at admission, 55% had no pain or mild pain, 41% had moderate to severe pain, and 4% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 33 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no pain or mild pain decreased to 33%. Those with moderate to severe pain decreased to 3%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 64%.

Of the 54 patients assessed at admission, 67% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 30% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness, 4% experienced extremely severe breathlessness, and 8% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

Of the 54 patients assessed at admission, 67% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 30% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness, 4% experienced extremely severe breathlessness, and 8% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 33 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild breathlessness decreased to 24%. Those with moderate breathlessness decreased to 18%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 64%.

Of the 54 patients evaluated at admission, 57% had no or mild fatigue, while 39% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 4% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 54 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild fatigue decreased to 22%. Those with moderate to severe fatigue were 39%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 39%.

Of the 64 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no ascites or no symptoms were 99%, and with symptoms due to ascites were 2%.

Of the 54 patients evaluated upon admission, 78% had no agitation or confusion, 19% showed mild, and 4% showed severe.
