Morphine Dosage at Admission:

60% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage at admission was 61.4mg.

60% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage was 61.4mg at admission and 79.1mg in the last 24 hours.

Pain at Admission:

Of the 182 patients assessed at admission, 69% had no pain or mild pain, 38% had moderate to severe pain, and 4% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 182 patients assessed at admission, 69% had no pain or mild pain, 38% had moderate to severe pain, and 4% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 113 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no pain or mild pain decreased to 43%. Those with moderate to severe pain decreased to 16%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 41%.

Breathlessness at Admission:

Of the 182 patients assessed at admission, 81% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 15% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness. 4% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

Of the 182 patients assessed at admission, 81% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 15% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness. 4% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 113 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild breathlessness decreased to 47%. Those with moderate breathlessness were 12%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 42%.

Fatigue at Admission:

Of the 182 patients evaluated at admission, 45% had no or mild fatigue, while 51% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 4% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 182 patients evaluated at admission, 45% had no or mild fatigue, while 51% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 4% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 182 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild fatigue decreased to 24%. Those with moderate to severe fatigue were 43%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 31%.
