Morphine Dosage at Admission:

61% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage at admission was 103.4mg.

61% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage at admission was 103.4mg at admission and increased to 128.6mg in the last 24 hours.

Pain at Admission:

Of the 210 patients assessed at admission, 57% had no pain or mild pain, 39% had moderate to severe pain, and 4% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 210 patients assessed at admission, 57% had no pain or mild pain, 39% had moderate to severe pain, and 4% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 121 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no pain or mild pain slightly decreased to 45%. Those with moderate to severe pain decreased to 19%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 36%.

Of the 210 patients assessed at admission, 85% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 11% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness. 5% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

Of the 121 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild breathlessness decreased to 52%. Those with moderate to severe breathlessness were 13%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 36%.

Of the 210patients evaluated at admission, 56% had no or mild fatigue, while 39% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 5% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 210 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild fatigue decreased to 28%. Those with moderate to severe fatigue were 41%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 30%.

Of the 210 patients evaluated at admission, 67% had no to mild edema, and 33% had moderate to severe edema.

Of the 210 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild edema were 61%, and with moderate to severe edema were 38%.

Of the 210 patients evaluated at admission, 80% had no ascites or showed no symptoms related to it, and 20% showed symptoms due to ascites.

Of the 210 patients evaluated upon admission, 84% had no agitation or confusion, 13% showed mild, and 2% showed moderate to severe.

Of the 210 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no agitation or confusion were 77%. Those with mild were 15 %, and with moderate to severe increase to 7%.
