Morphine Dosage at Admission:

80% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage at admission was 77.6mg.

Morphine Dosage at Admission and Last 24 Hours:

80% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage was 77.6mg at admission and 61.8mg in the last 24 hours.

Pain at Admission:

Of the 20 patients assessed at admission, 50% had no pain or mild pain, 40% had moderate to severe pain, and 10% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Pain at Admission and Last 3 Days:

Of the 20 patients assessed at admission, 50% had no pain or mild pain, 40% had moderate to severe pain, and 10% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 7 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no pain or mild pain increased to 72%. Those with moderate to severe pain decreased to 14%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness were 14%.

Breathlessness at Admission:

Of the 20 patients assessed at admission, 50% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 40% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness. 10% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

Breathlessness at Admission and Last 3 Days:

Of the 20 patients assessed at admission, 50% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 40% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness. 10% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 7 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild breathlessness increased to 72%. Those with moderate breathlessness decreased to 14%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 14%.

Fatigue at Admission:

Of the 20 patients evaluated at admission, 50% had no or mild fatigue, while 40% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 10% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 20 patients evaluated at admission, 50% had no or mild fatigue, while 40% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 10% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 20 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild fatigue decreased to 20%. Those with moderate to severe fatigue were 55%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 25%.

Leg Edema at Admission:

Of the 20 patients evaluated at admission, 75% had no to mild edema, and 25% had moderate to severe edema.

Of the 20 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild edema were 70%, and with moderate to severe edema were 30%.

Of the 20 patients evaluated at admission, 95% had no ascites or showed no symptoms related to it, and 5% showed symptoms due to ascites.

Agitation or Confusion (Hyperactive Delirium) at Admission:

Of the 20 patients evaluated upon admission, 75% had no agitation or confusion, 20% showed mild, and 5% showed moderate.

Of the 20 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no agitation or confusion were 70%. Those with mild were 20%, and with moderate increase to 10%.
