50% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage at admission was 35.6mg.

50% of the patients were using opioids at admission to the palliative care unit. The average oral morphine equivalent daily dosage was 35.6mg at admission and 52.2mg in the last 24 hours.

Pain at Admission:

Of the 48 patients assessed at admission, 64% had no pain or mild pain, 30% had moderate to severe pain, and 6% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 48 patients assessed at admission, 64% had no pain or mild pain, 30% had moderate to severe pain, and 6% appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 25 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no pain or mild pain decreased to 52%. Those with moderate to severe pain decreased to 4%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness were 44%.

Breathlessness at Admission:

Of the 48 patients assessed at admission, 69% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 22% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness. 6% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

Of the 48 patients assessed at admission, 69% had no breathlessness or mild breathlessness. 22% experienced moderate to severe breathlessness. 6% appeared vague and not had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 25 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild breathlessness decreased to 48%. Those with moderate breathlessness decreased to 8%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 44%.

Fatigue at Admission:

Of the 48 patients evaluated at admission, 42% had no or mild fatigue, while 52% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 6% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

Of the 48 patients evaluated at admission, 42% had no or mild fatigue, while 52% experienced moderate to severe fatigue. 6% felt appeared vague or had unclear consciousness.

 

Of the 48 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no or mild fatigue decreased to 19%. Those with moderate to severe fatigue were 45%. Those of patients appeared vague or had unclear consciousness increased to 35%.

Of the 48 patients evaluated at admission, 98% had no ascites or showed no symptoms related to it, and 2% showed symptoms due to ascites.

Of the 48 patients evaluated in the 3 days before passing away, the patients with no agitation or confusion were 77%. Those with mild were 13%, and with moderate to severe increase to 10%.
