Memorandum of Understanding signed with Peking University First Hospital

National Cancer Center Hospital East has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with Peking University First Hospital, China.
Founded in 1915 as the affiliated clinic of Beijing Medical School, followed by merging with Peking University and designated the current name in 2000, Peking University First Hospital is a general hospital with over 3,600 staff. As a large comprehensive tertiary hospital integrating medical services with teaching, research and preventive medicine, it has 36 clinical departments, 11 technological departments, 1 research department, 4 research institutes, and equipped with 1805 beds. The hospital has a high reputation of advanced comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, and on average 10,000 outpatients from all over China visit the hospital daily to seek advanced care.
The virtual scientific joint research center between Peking University First Hospital and National Cancer Center East Hospital has been established, and Dr GAO Xian-Shu, Chief of Radiotherapy and Dr Tetsuo Akimoto, Chief of Radiation Oncology, who have been collaborating on proton therapy treatment, have been appointed representatives of both institutions.
We hope to expand the cooperation between the two hospitals, in further academic and personnel exchange, and in remote diagnoses and case consultations.
