Roles of the ITISC are as follows: 1) operation, management, and maintenance of a hospital information system (HIS) both of the National Cancer Center Hospital (NCCH) and the National Cancer Center Hospital East (NCCHE); 2) operation, management, and maintenance of an information system and network of the NCC; 3) making policy of information security meet for related laws and regulations; and 4) staff education for improving information literacy.

Education

At an orientation for new staff members of Tsukiji and Kashiwa campuses, the ITISC gives lectures on the use of an information system and important points of individual information, and trys improving information literacy.

Future prospects

The roles of the ITISC are management of the infrastructure of the NCC and contribution to medicine and cancer research by providing a secure, efficient and advanced environment of information system.
