Certified Nurse Curriculum

Curriculum for certified nurse
1. Palliative care nursing
Four students who failed the 2018 Japanese Nursing Association certified nurse qualification examination successfully passed in July 2019. Since the start of the education curriculum in 2013, we have successfully produce 91 certified nurses in palliative care. The 2019 certified nurse education curriculum in palliative care nursing was cancelled.
2. Cancer chemotherapy nursing
Eight students who completed the certified nursing education curriculum in March 2018 passed the Japanese Nursing Association qualification examination. Since the start of the education curriculum in 2016, 29 nurses have been certified in cancer chemotherapy nursing. The 2019 certified nurse education curriculum in cancer chemotherapy nursing was cancelled.
3. Cancer radiation therapy nursing
In March 2018, twelve students who completed the curriculum passed the Japanese Nursing Association qualification examination. Ten students were enrolled in this course in July 2019, and all of them completed it in March 2020.
4. Follow-up training
Follow-up training was held in February 2020 for those who completed this curriculum, and 104 people participated. Each of them gave a presentation on their activities and discussed how to fulfill a role as a certified nurse. We invited a guest lecturer to deepen our knowledge about Advance Care Planning.
Future prospects
We will support the 132 certified nurses in those three fields in order to enable them to contribute to improving the quality of nursing at each institution as they provide high-level nursing by using their outstanding nursing skills as well as playing roles in practice, guidance, and consultation.
