Introduction

 Our team is dedicated to the stable operation of hospital information systems. We work with various hospital departments to ensure the system is properly maintained so that daily operations run smoothly. Furthermore, we strive to enhance operations and innovate systems from an information systems perspective. Our ongoing research focuses on leveraging IT to improve operational efficiency and elevate patient services.

Research Activities

 We made presentations at Japan Association for Medical Informatics, European Congress of Radiology, etc.

 A demonstration test of an automated wheelchair was started with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. Joint research on data linkage between electronic medical records and EDC, which has been ongoing since last year, enabled data linkage of actual trials. We also participated in joint research on the utilization of electronic medical record data with Flatiron Health K.K.

Education

 <For department colleague>

 Support is being provided to Hospital Information Technologists (HIT) to obtain qualifications.

 In FY2022, one HIT and one assistant-certified medical information system auditor acquired qualifications. Education on project management was provided through on-the-job training.

 <For Hospital colleague>

 E-learning on information security was conducted.

 In addition, educational activities to improve IT literacy were conducted by publishing a monthly newsletter.

Future Prospects

 A staff member from the Department of Clinical Laboratories rotated the jobs in FY2022, which strengthened the connections with the nursing, radiology technology, and clinical laboratories departments and established a support system for introducing and updating information systems. We aim to communicate with the Department of Pharmacy and other departments to create and operate a more appropriate hospital information system in the future. We will also enhance the governance of medical information handling from the perspective of information systems. We will analyze the increasing number of information security incidents at other hospitals and propose necessary countermeasures for the Hospital East. We are continuing to study the details of the Kashiwanoha Smart City demonstration project. Meanwhile, we have started data linkage in an actual clinical trial as a result of joint research with a company. We will work to refine the system so that it can be widely applied in the future.
