Introduction

The Education and Professional Career Development Bureau was established in February 2019 to effectively promote human resource development implemented under the appropriate division of roles among the Center's departments, as well as to implement cross-organizational initiatives, including the consolidation of information, overall coordination, and preparation of an overall plan for human resource development for the entire Center.

The Team and What We Do

The Center accepts researchers and applicants for training and provides educational and training opportunities for those not on the Center's staff (Table 1). In addition, we operate a cooperative graduate school system, which has produced many enrollments and degree recipients in past years (Table 2).

(1) Creation and publication of a collaborative graduate school website

In FY2023, to further revitalize the collaborative graduate school system, we created and published a website for external parties introducing the collaborative graduate school system at the Center. We will continue to update the public information and promote the appeal of education and training at the Center.

(2) The signing of new cooperative graduate school agreements with three universities

In FY2023, we signed agreements with three new universities. This brings the number of universities the Center has graduate school partnerships to 24, significantly contributing to creating a foundation for educational and training activities. We plan to continue considering new collaborations while assessing the effectiveness of cooperation between universities and the Center.

(3) Surveying of human resource development activities

A survey was conducted on the total educational and training activities within the Center. As a result, the survey results were compiled into a list and distributed to each department, encouraging collaboration between departments and contributing to revitalizing educational and training activities at the Center.

Research Activities

We have examined the training infrastructure of the National Center for Advanced Medical Care, Medical Research Collaboration Promotion Headquarters (JH), and have begun distributing it as a 6NC standard education course using ICRweb, The center's clinical research and education infrastructure. In FY2023, we aimed to enhance lectures related to clinical research.

Future Prospects

The Education and Professional Career Development Bureau's mission is to secure the foundation for its own activities and produce highly specialized human resources throughout Japan. We must take on challenges by utilizing the characteristics of both campuses to develop and deliver highly specialized human resources who are ahead of the times while keeping a long-term perspective on human resource development.
