Introduction
Our department, established in August 2023, aims to clarify the current status of cancer care by collecting and analyzing basic data to evaluate the quality of health care from the perspective of patients and their families. These efforts support the advancement of cancer control measures.
The Team and What We Do
We are working to develop a logic model to evaluate the progress of the 4th Cancer Control Plan. As part of our efforts to measure the indicators of this logic model, we conducted a mortality follow-back survey to understand the experience of cancer patients in their final stages.
Research Activities
As a secondary analysis of the 2019-2020 mortality follow-back survey, we are advancing publications on the quality of end-of-life care and the quality of death and dying, analyzed by disease, place of death, and age.
Future Prospects
We will take over the patient experience survey that is conducted as part of the Cancer Control Promotion Evaluation Project. The secondary use of the data obtained from the survey project will be promoted to analyze and understand the actual conditions of cancer patients in more detail.
