Introduction
As part of advancing international initiatives under a unified vision, international medical services have been positioned as a key component, and the Department of International Medical and Advanced Care was established in October 2023.
The Team and What We Do
Between April 2024 and March 2025, a total of 203 new foreign patients received medical consultations—the highest number to date. Of these, 160 patients sought a second opinion, and 43 subsequently received treatment. In addition, 709 patients returned for follow-up consultations. As a result, the division achieved record-high revenue.
When visitors from overseas institutions visited the hospital president or chairman, we provided explanations about our hospital’s medical services and the reservation process for international patients. Approximately ten such visits were accommodated.
Furthermore, we conducted inspections of around ten medical institutions in China, engaging with local healthcare professionals and promoting our hospital’s activities.
Education
Through multidisciplinary team-based care addressing a wide range of diseases, staff members received education and training to enhance their ability to provide medical services for foreign patients.
Future Prospects
In fiscal year 2025, we plan to strengthen awareness of our hospital’s international medical services by collaborating with medical coordination companies to create promotional materials such as videos and staff profiles.
By hiring dedicated staff members for the Department of International Medical and Advanced Care (one full-time employee joining in December 2024 and two part-time employees joining in October 2024), we aim to reduce the workload of hospital staff involved in the care of foreign patients and transition to a system in which appointment coordination with medical coordination companies is managed exclusively by this team.
