Introduction
Headquarters for Cancer Information Services aims to improve and strengthen the website, videos, pamphlets, and other information content provided by the National Cancer Center for patients and the general public. It reviews the current state of the website and discusses initiatives for its improvement, as well as interdepartmental coordination necessary to disseminate medical and research information throughout the Center. The outcomes of these discussions are then communicated to the departments in charge of website management.
The Team and What We Do
Headquarters for Cancer Information Services meeting, which is made up of information providers from each department, is held to deliberate and share information. When holding sub-division meetings, the Headquarters for Cancer Information Services secretariat coordinates the matters to be discussed.
Activities
Based on the National Cancer Center's information provision policy established the previous fiscal year, each department was asked to develop an information provision and public relations plan, which was shared at the headquarters meeting. At the end of the fiscal year, the main achievements and challenges regarding information provision based on each department's information provision/public relations plan for fiscal year 2024 were summarized. Information was shared on the proposed plan to update cancer information for the Cancer Information Service and the progress of the plan.
Future Prospects
Plans for 2025 will be considered, with a focus on addressing issues in the implementation of each department's information provision and public relations plans for 2024. In the future, the Center will continue to consider ways to utilize social media and AI, which are expected to see greater use, and will also strengthen cooperation and collaboration between departments in further providing information.
