MOU signed with Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital(HCMCOH)in Vietnam
The National Cancer Center (NCC)Japan signed a comprehensive memorandum of understanding with Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital in Vietnam.
HCMCOH is the largest oncology hospital in South Vietnam with 1100 beds, 1600 staff, serving 1700-1800 patients per day, and has established the first Department of Palliative Care in 2009 in the nation. Recently HCMCOH focuses on clinical trials for developing new drugs with pharmaceutical companies, and also opened a new hospital with1000 beds in the ninth district of the city in 2020.
In 2019, our doctors (Dr Kan Yonemori, Head - Department of Breast and Medical Oncology, Dr Kenichi Nakamura, Division Chief - Research Management Division, Dr Tomohiro Matsuda, Head - Office of International Affairs, and Head –National Cancer Registry Section )visited HCMCOH and agreed to collaborate in clinical trials and expanding cancer registration, establishing a framework for genomic analyses.
