Research Activity
Welcome to the homepage of the Division of Bioinformatics! Bioinformatics is an emerging interdisciplinary field that combines “bio”-logy and “informatics”. The people in this field study biology solely using computers to analyze experimental biological data.
We study bioinformatics with a focus on cancer, aiming for clinical application. Although people tend to forget the viewpoint of realistic clinical application while absorbed in research, we always keep this viewpoint in mind, enabling us to be a unique bioinformatics laboratory.
The missions of our laboratory are as follows:
- Development and application of new bioinformatics methods for cancer medicine
- Bioinformatics analysis for experimental groups at this Center as well as other research institutions.
Specifically, we conduct research projects described in Research Projects.
Considering realistic clinical applications, we grow original research themes without fearing criticism while riding on the mainstream in collaborations. Aggressively absorbing new data-analysis methods, we aim to create new cancer bioinformatics for the world.
