Division of Cancer Information Service
The Division of Cancer Information Service is responsible for establishing and enhancing the infrastructure for cancer-related information through three principal activities: developing information targeted at both the general public and healthcare professionals, supporting its effective utilization, and promoting its dissemination and equitable access.
Collection, development, and updating of cancer-related information

We systematically collect and curate accurate, reliable cancer-related information, and disseminate it through a variety of channels, including the Cancer Information Service website, printed booklets and publications, as well as audio-based content.
Conducting training programs for Cancer Counseling Specialists and establishing a collaborative network for Cancer Counseling Support

We are striving to enhance the quality of Cancer Counseling by fostering the development of skilled Cancer Counseling Specialists, establishing robust support frameworks, and building a comprehensive network for Cancer Counseling Support.

Collaboration with patients and the general public, and provision of informational materials to medical institutions and public libraries

We provide educational materials to medical institutions and public libraries, and conduct awareness-raising activities on reliable cancer-related information in collaboration with corporations, cancer survivors nationwide, and individuals interested in cancer control.
Design, implementation, and operation of a secure and reliable systems infrastructure

To ensure the consistent provision of cancer-related information, we develop and operate a systems infrastructure that ensures security and reliability. This infrastructure supports systems for delivering cancer-related information, such as the Cancer Information Service website, systems for content creation and dissemination, and the overall management of cancer information platforms.
Information development and policy recommendations on the health effects of tobacco

We develop informational materials on the health effects of tobacco and engage in policy recommendations related to tobacco control.
